2014 Gildan New Mexico Bowl
Utah State 21 - UTEP 6

The Utah State University Aggies won the 9th Annual Gildan New Mexico Bowl against the University of Texas, El Paso Miners, 21-6. This year’s bowl game was the highest attended Gildan New Mexico Bowl since 2010 with an attendance of 28,275. This win was the culmination of USU of Utah State’s second winningest season in school history. Utah State rushed for all three touchdowns. UTEP’s 6 points were the result of two field goals. Offensive MVP of the Game was Kent Myers. Defensive MVP of the Game was Zach Vigil.

The season gets underway for Conference USA and the Mountain West on Thursday night. UTSA looks for its first win in the series with Arizona but it will be a challenge on the 22nd-ranked Wildcats home field. Hawai`i begins its schedule with an autonomous five conference member for the sixth straight year, hosting Colorado in a match up airing on CBS Sports Network. The Buffaloes won 21-12 last year to tie the series at 2 but the Warriors last season-opening win came against Colorado in 2011.

The 10th-annual Gildan New Mexico Bowl will kickoff on the FBS Bowl season opening day, on Saturday, Dec. 19 at Noon MT/2 p.m. ET, announced the Gildan New Mexico Bowl. The game will be played at University Stadium in Albuquerque, and will be broadcast nationally on ESPN and ESPN Radio.
